Cristina is a Colombian-American fiction writer from the San Francisco Bay Area.  Her story "New Years in La Calera," published in PEN America Best Debut Short Stories 2018 [originally in EPOCH Literary Magazine (Vol. 66 No. 3)], won the PEN/Robert J Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers. She earned her M.A. in Creative Writing at UC Davis (2019), received a Fulbright Creative Arts Fellowship (2020), and is at work on a collection of short stories, an opera, and a novel.

As an artist, her interests include editing (fiction and screenplays), literary translation, and other forms of creative collaborations.
